Flagship store, New Bond St, London
The Flagship store for ‘Other Criteria’ was conceived as a pure white space — the standard gallery presentation for most forms of art — but one where the white walls and floor were fashioned out of flawless stone rather than more prosaic materials like plasterboard and paint.
To achieve this level of quality a single block of Sivec marble was sourced and worked to produce the required slabs.
This high level of finish was carried through to details such as the carved marble picture rail and the dark African red and black marble in the entrance lobby. The depth and lustre of the marble, with very faint veins barely visible, gives the space a precious feel carefully chosen to complement the works on sale which range from jewellery to original art works by Damien Hirst and other leading contemporary artists.
